So does anyone have insight about the NC’s background?

Yes I’m calling their baby ugly and I don’t think this agreement should have ever seen the light of day. However, there’s no real value making it personal, still I think it’d be valuable to the pilot group to really know more about them.

At CAL, pilots used to fly to Europe and then deadhead back to base in the middle seat in coach during the same duty period. It’s hard to believe, but that was a product of negotiations. Maybe those guys are still alive and well?

I’m just trying to understand the logic behind no and how that helps us. I am as upset as you are because I had higher expectations, but I am also pragmatic and trying to make a financial decision and not an emotional one.
You're not pragmatic, you're suffering from full-blown Stockholm Syndrome!

I hate to tell you this, but negotiations are not entirely financial - there are literally humans sitting across from one another reading tells and bluffs while trying to gauge resolve. The membership can push the resolve piece back to the table with authority by providing the negotiating committee with a mandate. If the NC won't show resolve, the membership can do it for them.

Maybe he was, based on what we’ve been presented, because the TA sure isn’t any better.

On top of the NC members obvious lack of understanding one of our MEC officers just posted pictures of he and his son enjoying Chicago on our dime while there for the vote. With captions like “bring your son to work week’. We cannot get rid of this group quick enough. They have completely lost touch with the people they represent. First step is to vote this down and then go after a recall.

An LEC officer or MEC? Which seat?

Oh please with the same old BS excuses. Nobody is buying that crap anymore. Maybe the company should have considered employee needs before doing a 7 BILLION $$$ stock buyback. Stop feeling sorry for the company. My guess is Kirby is breaking ground on his latest 10000 sqr foot vacation home.

Look at the history of “FriendlyPilot’s” posts:
All kumbayah and propaganda.

Homie: Mix it up a bit. Your 85 posts read like an obvious plant. Stir in some skepticism or backbone now and then. We can all see through you. What a joke.

Other readers: Copy this post and reply it to more of Friendly’s posts. You’ll see the account go dormant and a new “company friendly” account pop up. Magic!

How are you worried about these things when the company comes out publicly stating these are not going to have a large impact on the company…. Clearly your decision making is poor and in a vacuum.

Congrats on having the most cited post! You belong in academia. WRT the potentially massive recession you have a point. Let's not forget that there is also a potentially massive world war looming with China and yet another pandemic right around the corner. And recently the SCOTUS just potentially gave everyone a gun and potentially banned abortion in all states too, and in Pride month no less. The potential for civil unrest is high. The potential for balkanization is larger than it's ever been. Already the pilots in Florida have aligned themselves with Ron DeSantis on Facebook to enter your bedroom and abuse your kids and control every aspect of your life. Why on why would any vote this down in light of these potentials? A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Don't cut your nose to spite your face. I've seen princes walk and slaves ride horses. Remember that when you're choosing your hill to die on.

Default Just insist the Chairman resign

Then get to work on another AIP. We waited this long what's another 6 months. Let Kirby know he needs to get involved and get us that new retirement plan asap or the operation will implode this summer and next fall. Tired of this BS over and over and over again. Having the MEC make excuses is getting worn out.
