Amazing. It was a record quarter for revenue and $2.141 in free cash flow and you all want to give away scope (CRJ 550 & FTC instructors), Covid sick leave, onerous domestic reassignments, 0600 1st day reserve without any improvements in the worst sick leave, short term disability, vacation or trip trade coverage designation and only 6 months or retro for 4% while giving aways historic leverage. UFB.

And you change your vote even before this ridiculous renegotiation encouraging the company to make no improvements. I can't believe pilots would be this short sighted so I have so assume you all aren't really United pilots. At least I hope not.

Wow we sure do have some spineless people at this airline. Waaaaa we need to take QOL cuts so I can get a little, stress LITTLE, raise. These are the people that couldn’t stand up on their own without someone lifting them up. Pathetic

I agree. I find it funny that one guy on here is saying he apologized to his reps and voted yes…he then said,”Level heads prevail” lol. Going from saying something to your rep you need to apologize for to voting yes is erratic behavior…nothing level headed about it. I too hope these “pilots” on here don’t actually work here.

You guys need to relax. They are kidding/trolling.

Quote: I just changed my vote to YES. I think we all owe our NC/MEC an apology. 5am first day reserve sucks but it is what it is. Don't cut your nose to spite your face.
Earnings are so bad that UA has decided to pay cash for the aircraft they’re taking in 2022. 40+ Max and almost a half dozen 787s… The ALPA left wheelbarrows full of money on table with that concessionary TA.

He was trolling guys. Clearly even with this earnings report which was expected to be lackluster, the TA is still a steaming piece of concessionary garbage.

Thanks for pointing this out. I was trying to look into the numbers. There was some strange stuff on short term investments too and it appeared to me that they also paid down long term debt to the tune of over $1B.

So when are United getting that 5% raise again???

Earnings missed. Profit margin during the best quarter of the year, during a year with stronger demand than normal, was only 7.2%. Stock price down 6.5% after hours.

As supply of ASM’s increase as airlines staff back up, demand decreases now that the summer of COVID revenge travel is ending, and possibly a small drop in demand due to inflation and/or mild economic slowdown, that profit margin is likely to decrease.

At this rate, it’s very likely United won’t hit the profit margin threshold in 4Q22 and 1Q23. So best case in my opinion is after 3Q23, but it’s very possible it could drag out another quarter, which would push the 5% raise out after 4Q23 earnings into early 2024.

I’m glad the Union paused the vote and the company was willing to come back to the table. Fix a couple items fast and send it our way so we can get that raise in our pockets now.
Are you high?! BTW - that's a rhetorical question.

The work rules we have NOW are better than that steaming pile of crap TA.

It ain't all about section 3, and 5% is chicken **** money compared to where we should be considering when the contract became amendable, inflation, and that insult of retro pay.

I pledged to leave this profession better than I found it. Unless there is some sort of miraculous, massive change in what was presented (and there won't be), this turd needs to be flushed immediately.

Personally, I want to know what the results of the member ratification were as of when it was originally supposed to close out.

Enough already...

“Clearly” eh?

Life is easier when things are binary. Good TA/steaming piece of garbage. Red/Blue. Management/line-pilot.

There were quite a few improvements in the TA. When TA2 comes out, it’s going to have a lot of the same provisions as TA1 (minus the obvious “gives”). I suggest folks Use some critical thinking power to ascertain what is best for our pilot group long term, rather than creating the hyperbolic, colorful rhetoric to describe our sub par TA.

Anybody who is holding out for a 30% raise and quality of life improvements across-the-board he’s going to be waiting quite a long time… so maybe finding out more realistic set of expectations would be beneficial, unless you’d like to me negotiating section 6 for the next four years.

Again, life is simpler when you see things as black-and-white and find purpose in your life by taking a stand for something…

Jerry,
I read this post as a joke. No way any real United pilot is this stupid. It’s either 1) trolling 2) a management ass kisser or 3) a scab
