SK: Regional Pay Increases are Permanent

Skywest got an Average 62% and 72% scale increase for ERJ and CRJ Captains, respectively.

UAL increase should be inline with that.

No Less

But but we can’t ask for a raise!!! Those RJ rates are just until the regionals go out of business!!!

Not really a great metric for us since SKW was basically making poverty wages to start with, but I like the spirit. Personally I think $/hr/pax is a good metric to start and that involves a pretty hefty raise to get us on par.

What would that solve? This is labor shortage induced.. . It's another pass through expense

Straw man argument. We aren't saying we can't ask for a raise we are saying these regional rates don’t mean much to us as far as our negotiations go. These companies need to retain staff RIGHT NOW or they can't train the next group of pilots. No training staffing = no more airline. What sane person would stay at a regional if offered a big 5 job? It might prevent them from going to a LCC but probably not. The regional business model has been broken for a long time. A 40 airplane airline in desperation mode trying to keep the lights on doesn't help us much.

If you actually believe you’ll have more than half those pay rate % gains with United’s endless lackluster earnings you’re “going off the rails man” 😉.

I thought you boys were all about that quality of life???
