Damnedest thing. I thought it was a mistake, then they gave me the "operational integrity" line saying they were concerned about a possible weather delay, even though there were hours of headroom until they'd need a fourth pilot. I show up and none of us could figure out why they decided an extra captain was necessary on a flight that was a little over nine hours. PDRd union and they said it happens more often than you'd think... of course you'd think it would be never if CS used common sense and gave a damn about money. Took me out of the system for four days and they had to pay per diem. I also collected pay for unused short calls every month I was on reserve.

Interested in United. I live close to COS and about an 1.5 drive to DEN. Currently flying 135 and do enjoy being home based. How hard is it to get DEN based out of training? Also what different aircraft types are DEN based? I want to avoid commuting as much as possible. Thanks!

denver is easy to get out of training these days on the 737/320. denver also has a 756 category and 787. if I recall denver 756 is all 757 and no 767 but don't quote me on that.

New hires in indoc get whatever vacancies are left open by the more senior pilots, and the indoc class is stacked by age. You should be able to get DEN 737 on your first vacancy bid, so around 4 or so months.

I would look elsewhere. This plays is a complete disaster. You’d be way better off going elsewhere. If the only thing important to you is driving to work, move. That or realize you will always work for a 4th or 5th tier airline . This place is a joke. Tell your friends to look elsewhere. They will be way better off in the long run.

Hard to tell if you’re serious, or just venting. We’re all tired of Kirby’s crap, but I think the troops are FINALLY unified behind a competent MEC. Let’s stay unified, and do our part to leap frog Delta. Pattern bargaining works, but it requires unity and resolve, something that didn’t exist for the last 4 years under the toddlers
