Actually, it is you who doesn't get it. Too funny.
Wrong.
This resolution had the support of the following councils: C5-EWR, C11-DCA, C12-ORD and C173-GUM but failed on a roll call vote 5316 FOR and 5338 AGAINST with one abstention by the IAH FO rep who obviously has no business being a rep.

I reread your paragraph again, but the math keeps saying that the UAL MEC supports TI for ALPA Int'l president. Weird, but ill keep trying (at least until 11Nov).

This vote effectively killed any chance of TI winning.
Worse; putting forth TI for the position just makes our MEC look even more corrupt.

OF COURSE THEY'RE AWARE. His chances of winning prior to the vote were nearly zero....just like now...just like after the picketing. The MEC may look bad for pressing with his candidacy, but our group in general looks like a pathetic joke for lots of reasons.

Role call votes, each rep has as many votes as the constituents he has. If there are 2,000 first officers in EWR, the C-5 FO rep has 2,000 votes.

It’s a roll call vote. Each rep votes the number of pilots they “represent”. IAH FO rep chickened out and abstained so the number is lower than normal. Add that and probationary pilots in to come up with our total number. Roll call is how the ALPA president is elected as well.
