UAL MEC Resolution To Rescind Support -INSLER
C5 Update.
MEC Meeting Update
Your officers have been LAS since Monday attending the MEC meeting. Day one of the meeting was outlined in last night’s MEC update detailing the reports that were presented.
Today the following resolution was floored:
Therefore, be it resolved that the United Master Executive Council hereby rescinds its previous endorsement of Captain Todd Insler for the office of President of the Association, and;
Therefore, be it further resolved that the United MEC will not endorse Capt. Insler for any other ALPA, International office or for any role, and does not support of any role for Capt. Insler at ALPA, International, including Executive Administrator.
This resolution had the support of the following councils: C5-EWR, C11-DCA, C12-ORD and C173-GUM but failed on a roll call vote 5316 FOR and 5338 AGAINST with one abstention.
Lastly, we apologize for the lateness of the LSC report which was sent out earlier today. The LSC as always, timely prepared the report, but due to some transitional communications distribution issues, which we are working through.
We will continue to represent your voice and provide updates as the week progresses.
In Unity,
Larry, Todd and Steve

The only fact that matters is the vote count right?

Technically true, but the answer to your question is the outcome of vote is not the only thing that matters especially at the BOD. Perception is important and all the delegates know how close the vote was and that C33 DEN (20-1), C34 SFO, & C57 LAX (3-2) voted to put their reps recall out for ballot in large part because their pilots don't feel they are well represented. Unfortunately, the reps are ignoring the will of their pilots and refused to do the honorable thing by resigning. They still are bound and determined to serve the interests of their Dear Leader over those of their pilots.
You might want to find some new sources of information.

Actually, it is you who doesn't get it. Too funny.
Wrong.
This resolution had the support of the following councils: C5-EWR, C11-DCA, C12-ORD and C173-GUM but failed on a roll call vote 5316 FOR and 5338 AGAINST with one abstention by the IAH FO rep who obviously has no business being a rep.
