DALPA and the company negotiated for an experiment to try a MCO satellite base on our last contract with a whole lot of stipulations to placate those worried about flying dilution. Before the experiment could even be tried, the whining was so loud from existing bases that DALPA informed the company that it cancelled the "experiment" before it even could happen.

Since then, the answer to satellite bases has been no, for good reason. The company didn't want to have realistic expectations on how to cover flying--or to pay for the convenience.

I remember that now. I think that was the one test that validated the position held prior to it and since.

Only a full standalone base will be allowed for the reason you cited and more.

Side note, the company was pushing for PBS long before it came to be in the post 9/11 world and BK carnage. Our answer was we will consider it……answer no.

And here we are. PBS is here to stay.

The company is shifting flying from the coastal commuter bases to the more popular interior hubs with zero complaints so far, so if you concentrate the flying and then dilute it to “normal” levels, what’s the difference?

737 MCO/TPA/LAS…too much growth, it would be reasonable decision. 15 Nov or earlier

I know its not a done deal but would MCO base be senior for FO and Capt?

Most junior Captain probably 1999-2005 hire.
Most junior FO probably 2015 -2019 hire.
