The company has said they are basing the decision on current scheduled overnights. Although the company doesn't care where we live, I think the whole 'FL pilots go Delta or AA" is part of the appeal. We aren't going to be able to hire high 5/low 6 digits of pilots by writing off recruiting in the 3rd most populous state which also has at least 11 military bases full of pilots looking to make the jump.

A lot of widebody commuters are not likely to fly the “guppy” as it is beneath them. Plus, they won’t like 1 and 2 day trips with all of the driving back and forth. Also the prospect of covering both MCO and TPA will scare away a lot of others, especially those that live near a coast.

My guess is that those on the bottom of the list will be on reserve for a very long time.

Is that CAL or UAL hire dates for the captains?

what’s it matter? Nobody knows for sure what it’s going to look like. The base hasn’t even been announced yet.

everything is speculation right now.

Correct. You lowly “guppy” drivers should have to wear a different uniform and maybe even one less stripe. Or maybe we should get an extra stripe. Carry on

How about the Guppy captains have 4 gold stripes, and the widebody captains have 5 black stripes.

In the same vein, what would all the "I'd never fly an Airbus!!!!!" people do if one of the new bases ends up being 'Bus only?

It’s the same uniform except the stripes on widebody pilots are made of real gold

They will have to wear white uniforms with metallic flake teal stripes.
