Yeah, that’s what I thought as well, but someone above was grumbling about eval forms being a component to getting off probation as if it had actually limited someone.

To disgruntled new guys, all any of us can say, is that operationally, things are as good here as they’ve ever been. Morale is generally high, we are paid well, and will shortly be paid a good bit more. If our union dysfunction is causing you that much heartburn… I think you might want to develop a thicker skin. This truly is about as good as things get, so if you can’t be happy now… I’m not sure what to tell you.

The good news about being a Delta pilot, is that whatever you think about the company from the outside, four months in, you will be absolutely certain that you are a part of the best aviation institution that has ever existed. All kidding aside, it’s a great airline, but I don’t really think it would be worth jumping ship, unless it would be a huge increase in quality of life geographically.

Read your post from a different angle: 'this is the best it has ever been, so this is the best it ever will get; do what the rest of us did and embrace the suck.' Not saying you're wrong, but times have changed and younger generations aren't willing to put up with the crap older folks have for so long, especially not during record-breaking profit years and record-breaking passenger numbers. The internet, and forums like this one, have made it a lot tougher to swindle and gaslight the average employee. It's okay to stand up for yourself and demand more in this historic time of high pilot demand and low pilot supply. Just my thoughts.

I completely agree. No time like the present to make large gains. I think my confusion is that you can be very grateful for how things are and still apply pressure to make things better. It seems like some people need to make themselves angry and indignant in order to feel comfortable Arguing for improvements. Maybe I’m missing something, but I don’t being happy at work and doing our best to apply our leverage are mutually exclusive.

Our union drama is certainly a bit embarrassing, but it will get sorted out, and hopefully we will be stronger for it, as Delta has shown us as possible. All I can do is write my rep and then vote on whatever is put in front of me. in the meantime, I will be grateful for the good times that we have

I agree 100% with you, as well. I think the vast majority of people aren't comfortable with conflict, so maybe they need to feel that way to be ready to do something about it? Really good points, thanks!

It looks like he succeeded in his mission I guess.

You’re totally underselling the double breasted uniform jackets

Polling everyone is free.

Telephone polling is so 1960s.

ALPA wastes tens of millions on phone polling. ALPA insiders love it and defend it. They craft the questions to elicit the responses they desire.

Bring resolutions to demand they poll everyone.
