Could the union put out a message saying due to the current pace of negotiations people should assume that they will be activated under our current contract, or would that be considered a job action?

I haven’t been here long but this one seems weird?

My previous union repeatedly said to make a decision based on what we have, not what might be coming.

to me, this seems like desperation and undermining.

Think of all the vacation they can cancel!

Here’s to hoping not a single person takes an upgrade. Doubtful that will happen but that would be a pretty crystal clear indication of where we stand on current UPA.

We are hiring so many FOs, they can easily plug them into areas in need. There were so many unfilled FO vacancies in the latest that it’s possible, at present pace of hiring, there’s no need for further filling of FO secondaries. Just saying there may be other lenses with which to view this one.

agree completely, but the timing is suspect.

Could the company start forcing upgrades, or is that something that is strictly prohibited in the contract?
