LAX Bid award packets?
Hello all. I am currently at a big kid airline with a bit of seniority. I am entertaining a Delta offer with a United interview coming up. United definitely has the better draw for me, since leaving where I am would be more about international and WB flying options.
I have the DAL bid packets, I obviously know what my life is like now, so that's the big comparison question. How does my schedule change? How does my flexibility change? How does control of my schedule change?
Bid awards will help quite a bit, I think. LAX any metal, even if I can't hold it out of the gate, just as information gathering.
I am also open to discussion about control and flexibility. I've never been PBS and don't get it at all. Right now, I can trade with my coworkers and with the company to get what I want. I almost don't care what line I am awarded as I can change anything (barring holidays of course). I know I can go to my friend's wedding in three months without worrying about not having vacation days off those days, eg. I get 17-18 days off every month which means I can move and shift and trade up all day long to end up where I want. I keep wednesdays off for events and never have a problem keeping them off. My line next month has Wednesdays on and I'm not even worried about changing that. What's it like on the various fleet types there?
If you were DAL and UA at any point, or have friends there, comparisons also greatly welcomed. I'm not young, I won't ever hold WB CA, but it's truly rare that someone in my position can even entertain this idea and for that I am grateful.
