Default CAL to Open LAX B-737 Base

Flight Ops announced a bid that contains an LAX B-737 base to cover LAX/SNA - Hawaii flying as well as LAX/SNA/ONT hub flying. BUR is listed as a possibility but we don't serve that airport currently.

60 Captains and 58 F/O's.

It was meant as a double entendre: posts and pilots/aircraft/routes.

FWIW the bid only specified to cover flying between the new LAX base and HNL/OGG and domestic flying via IAH/EWR/CLE. No mention of GDL/BJX/Hilo.

The TPA mentions all "Hawaii flying", so I'd assume that covers ITO.

This sounds like more shared sacrifice if you ask me. I wonder how many UAL guys will know about this, let alone even care?

While I am all for growth at the newly combined UCAL, it might be nice if they at least threw us a bone in the meantime. Yet the last time I checked they took (at least) 104 of ours away. I guess they feel that they've done such a good job of emasculating us that this won't matter. If the TA shows up before I get furloughed I know which way I'm voting.

Release that brake to give 'em the on time boys and adjust CH9 volume up. There's nothing to see here. Say, pass me those business cards...

That just about sums it up. The number of LAX pilots in this bid just about equals the number of CAL recalls. And yet, not ONE UA recall.

Any reason why the latest CO recall couldn't have been 50/50 CO/UA? After all, were one, big, happy merger of equals right?

Twice furloughed, ex-LAX pilot.
