One thing is probably irrefutable, most "boys" have a tool they want to use, and most "girls ' have something that they can monetize. Doesn't matter what your religion, what state you live in nor what country.

Is SLC one of your favorite overnights?

The irony in this post is SLC apparently has some of the best strip clubs in the country. I was listening to a podcast where a few professional athletes confirmed this.

Yes and it shows in the first 3 vacancy snapshots. Look how many are transferring out now that they’ve seen the trips. 17 unfilled in LAS I think on today’s snapshot.

How many of those pilots were initially given a widebody as a new hire and bid into LAS as a way to break their seat lock with the intention to lateral ASAP to their desired base?

let’s be clear here.

there are currently 17 unfilled CAPTAIN positions in LAS. New hires aren’t bidding for those.

what’s happening is that all the new hires (lots) who were put on the 777 in SFO are bidding over to LAS to break their seat lock. Then once it’s awarded, they’re bidding out of LAS on the next vacancy into [whatever]. (I know you know this…I’m just reiterating for anyone who doesn’t).

I think the Captain vacancies in Vegas might get worse once the trips really start flowing. I know some people like red eyes, but…every trip?

I was referring to the large number of CAs bidding back to LAX/SFO. 10 advertised vacancies and there were 17 unfilled on yesterday’s snapshot. 9 bid out of with only 1 FO taking the position as the other incoming is already a 320 CA.

I’m hoping they can’t fill it and keep opening more small bases. 🤞🏻 for SEA

If MCO and LAS also have staffing problems, does it make additional pilot bases more likely or less likely? I really hope that once we get an ILC and when we start adding flying out of those bases, that the trips will get better and they will fill up and we keep opening up more locations. I'd love a SEA base too!!!

MCO is like 10+ years (right now) to hold Captain. There’s no staffing issue for Orlando. The biggest FO issue, in my opinion, is figuring out where the G line will sit on any given month, and if/when Tampa opens, how does that change the dynamics of Captain vacancies and trip quality.

Vegas, though…everyone I talk to comments on how bizarre of a choice that is for a new base.

Not a UAL guy. Well I was 20 years ago but. I would have thought LAS would go somewhat senior as there are a lot of pilots that live there and commute to SFO or DEN for the lower cost of living. Or are these pilots on the wide body and wouldn’t downgrade to a 737 ?

I would think that as we get more airframes additional bases will become necessary. I was really surprised at LAS as opposed to PHX given how many pilots live in the PHX area. I think it would have been as senior as MCO.
