Yikes… “Closed and Locked” or just a little lip service?

I was in the 320 jumpseat once with another jumpseater, the other jumpseater told the CA his window wasn't closed/locked as we approached the end of the runway, good catch, thanks all around.

I had a Guppy window open on landing roll out at 80kts once. Dookie happens, things break/fail. Not sure why this is even a story.

Absolutely. Sadly, there are some instructors who promote the “don’t touch it!” philosophy. They have to be course corrected when this stuff rears it’s head.
Seriously.. "don't touch it"? What are we letting them turn us into?! |

If we have ANY Instructors telling pilots (ie, students) "Don't touch it".. they need to be removed from that position.
