If being “employed” was so critical in the SLI, then why did CAL propose placing “unemployed” CAL pilots ahead of UAL pilots that had never been furloughed and were currently employed? Also post 9/11 furloughed CAL pilots hired from 98-01 WERE placed ahead of never furloughed 1996-1998 UAL pilots. So your argument is stupid.

CAL recalled the 147 furloughs during the SLI process (before it was completed) and there was upward movement to include CAL hiring UAL furloughs.
That was the thought process at least for the CAL SLI guys. I thought that argument was total BS.
Unfortunately, that would come back to bite the CAL guys when there were furloughed UAL pilots placed on top of CAL guys who were never furloughed.
But that's ancient history.

There it is! Thanks Capt! Without your personal selflessness and responsibility to my welfare I have no idea how I’d feed my family. I promise the next time we fly, I’ll be more grateful and aroused.
