Based on the many other PIREPS here, it was likely for this specific reason…….

Now I am worried about this guys judgment! A 20V Dewalt rip saw would have been the more efficient tool. That was very poor planning.

Anyone who thinks this guy needs a psych eval more than any of the rest of us do has clearly never dealt with Denver parking.

Living in base is a choice.

JFC that’s a legendary way to go out. The axe was an interesting choice. Anyone who’s dealt with DIA employee parking feels his pain.

I negotiated an affordable monthly fee with a hotel on Tower Rd. for a parking spot and shuttle to the airport. Worth every penny and quicker commute to/from the gate.

I will also support this guy’s GoFundMe.

No one should be siding with this guy, not even partially.

All the public will see is that an experienced 777 CA at United almost crashed a WB into the ocean, followed by Mr. Anger Management here vandalizing airport property with an axe. This is how the media will portray a United pilot, unfortunately, this week.

Age 63, I get it, he's on his way out and maybe he takes his paycheck for granted. Still - would never put my kids on his flight. Time to retire early.

Virtue signal much? Taking all that high ground and not a peep about long sleeves during a Denver summer?

Yawn.

If you've been trapped in the airside lot this summer after they changed to the automated E470 sticker reader and eliminated the parking badge exit that's worked forever, you'd maybe understand. Not condoning it, but I kinda get it.

This incident gives new meaning to the demographics that never asked the question, but have axed the question.
