Quote: Clearly he is referring to folks who serve on a reserve or guard unit….
But not the guy the guy to which he was replying. Which is why it’s an idiotic comment.

Quote: Because those who came before us sold the profession out by allowing scope to be flushed down the toilet in favor of B scales and jets for jobs. They then whined when the very regional dichotomy that they helped create roared up and “took all of their flying” while cocky RJ drivers walked around with “guppy killer” stickers on their bags. UA, DL, and AA love SkyWest and their high school student council of a union. When the management groups need something done they just fire up the whipsaw and watch the pieces fall in line.

They can’t because most who comment this way were just being shot into their moms when the aforementioned trials and tribulations of the us aviation industry were being worked out.

No one gave away scope, it had to be established/earned/ negotiated.

It’s our culture now that anyone born prior to 2000 though was evil, sexist, racist and any other phobe you can think of and this industry was just god given to this generation despite the foibles of all who came before.

Even Aristotle recognized that humility is a virtue.

are you implying that the LUAL pilots during Chapter 11 voluntarily allowed the massive giveaway of the RJ's? based on your text you clearly were not here when that was all going down because you would no that giving away RJs was not on any agreement that the pilots got to vote on. The MEC Chairman side lettered all the RJ's away without any membership ratification.

The guy I was replying to quoted me. So it’s not idiotic. Don’t be so obtuse, or just follow the conversation. It was quite clear I was referring to guard/reserve.

Not sure he referenced a specific time period.

But if you been here you would no that the mid term ESOP as well as C2000 both "gave away RJ's", and were voted on OUTSIDE of Ch11.

Here’s the conversation.

Quote: So typical and disrespectful of younger generation to consider their "elders" either evil or stupid.

Those same pilots didn't even start at a major until their 30's, spent a decade as engineers, then as FO and maybe finishing their career as a CA, because, hey retire at 60. Oh and more than a majority had done military service to even get the opportunity. Fortunately at those times they still had pensions, paid for by the earlier than normal demise of many due to smoking and drinking.

Instead of being grateful and appreciative to those who came before and built a US pilot market that is the envy of the modern world, you chastise and criticize as though you would have done one scintilla of it differently.
To which you replied this nonsense after he in no way shape or form quoted you, unless you are using multiple accounts. Doesn’t sound like you were a military pilot, but his post had nothing to fit with guard or reserve, just serving in the military before coming to an airline.

Quote: Lol, the military card. How many of them conveniently use their drill periods for schedule enhancements and then ***** like hell when a mob comes around? Gmafb

I was here then and I voted against the "Mid Term Wage Adjustment" and RJ agreement.

My reply that I was referring to as being quoted was the second post.

I would be willing to bet that back in the day many of the military, like now, in their thirties who left active stayed guard/reserve.

Good, maybe the poster will clarify on which time frame they meant.
