So very apt.

Do you happen to have a link to this?

On one hand, I have to remind myself that we are a union with the ability for each member to have their voice heard. You know the whole ALPA myth that “the line pilot is the most powerful part of ALPA”.

But seriously, we haven’t always had membership and it’s a responsibility that we should be fully involved with.

On the other hand, before the internet, we’d only have to listen to the edges of the bell curve in the privacy of the union hall. That website is a doozy.

Honest question for anybody who has been here 20 years or longer. Were these characters ever as relevant as they seem to think they are? Or has it always just been a fringe group?

21-DD-1 Medical Autonomy. The Company may not unilaterally impose a vaccination, medical procedure, or medical requirement on Pilots beyond any requirements imposed by the FAA, including special issuance certificates.

Doesn’t this mean the company can’t repeat what they did for the Covid vaccine?

Nobody has ever been as relevant as they think they are, but fortunately we occasionally have individual and collective flashes of success.

Yes, the well-defined edges of the bell curve have always be here. There was a time when you’d have to attend an actual union meeting to offer the courtesy eye-roll.

They are butt hurt because if your choice to not vaccinate gets you pulled from a trip, they view it as an affront to their seniority. If you’re senior enough to bid that sweet WB trip, but that country won’t let you in……I personally think it should be an unpaid drop. You can try to pick up open time or you can bid a fleet where your medical freedom doesn’t affect your livelihood. I’m VERY against mandated vax, especially since it didn’t do $HITT….but it’s delusional to think seniority always means taking a bite out of everyone else’s meal when yours is disrupted.

We are a collection of fringe groups. Some louder than others.
