Asking for a friend,
What would seniority progression look like for someone starting at United in January 2024, and turning 39 a few months later? System wide and within the Chicago base?
TIA.

Current Roster - approx 16,000 pilots
Projected retirements
5 years - 3K
10 years - 6K
15 years - 8K
United has big growth plans. 28,000 pilots has been proposed, though that's not widely believed. Something like 20K is more likely as new planes are delivered and regional volume declines.
Coastal bases have rapid progression for new FO's as people redistribute, but good assignments (ie lineholder weekends off) have less variation base to base.

about a year ago you had 1k more than us (DL) and it seems like you have been hiring just as much since then (about 200/month)

Depends how you count it with people on various leaves, etc., but I show the highest seniority number today at just over 16,900.
