You've posted the same stuff in several threads and now started a new one. Not sure where the type rating comes from with no 121, 1250TT, and most recently flight instructing, but probably a moot point. As someone else said, submit your application and keep it updated. Not sure what you're looking for on here - do you have a chance? Everyone who meets MIN QUALIFICATIONS does. Without knowing your actual experience and "extra curriculars" it's difficult to assess your chance. I'd say you'd be at the bottom of the stack at this point, but why let that prevent you from submitting an application?

Your chances are exactly zero percent until you send in your application. If you want to work here, HR isn't going to hunt you down and personally recruit you. You need to put in an application and just keep updating it, and when you have enough points to satisfy the magic formula and/or dazzle someone at a meet and greet, you will get the call.

He’r definitely be at bottom of stack, but stack isn’t that thick and they’ve been reaching the bottom lately.

This would be nice but is not accurate. Plenty in my ULCC class are trying to get out, have been here over a year and over 800 turbine with no calls at any of the big 3.

800 Turbine and no calls? I find that hard to believe! On a serious note replacement of all the covid early outs is ending. The major airlines are going to be reducing hiring this year. Delta is going from 2400 to 1100 a year. The overall quality required to get a interview is going to start to return to a more normal range.

I don't even have any 121 time yet, I'm restricted ATP at 1250 with an A320 type rating. Currently I'm signed up for a class date at a ULCC. I've been told by a few other people older in the industry to just apply to a legacy such as United.
United is a long term goal for me, and I'm always hungry for resonsibility and opportunity. They have a base at MCO which is where I'd like to be. Is this a serious thing? Would United really look twice at a guy with a 2 year degree, no 121 time, and a type rating?

never hurts to apply.
I personally know of at least 2 people who have pulled off the "skip the regionals" trick play, but it was at Frontier and both individuals had very impressive "outside of flying stuff" resumé In short go to a regional, or Frontier and learn to play ball. Clearly you've done well with the CFII Flight school administration thing....just show United you can handle the next step. Speaking for myself I'm always impressed at those who've flown/trained/ worked their way up and usually am not as impressed with those whose tried to cut in line, or have always looked for some loophole to exploit. |
