skipping the regionals...........which is essentially what the OP is asking to do.........is a thing .......but not at the legacies it ain't....at least not yet.

I personally know of at least 2 people who have pulled off the "skip the regionals" trick play, but it was at Frontier and both individuals had very impressive "outside of flying stuff" resumé
In short go to a regional, or Frontier and learn to play ball. Clearly you've done well with the CFII Flight school administration thing....just show United you can handle the next step.
Speaking for myself I'm always impressed at those who've flown/trained/ worked their way up and usually am not as impressed with those whose tried to cut in line, or have always looked for some loophole to exploit.

Agreed, I think anyones game plan should be regional to ulcc etc asap then mainline. Getting out of regionals is key, a new type, not part of a feeder etc and if the music stops I’d be at frontier, spirit, JetBlue etc etc any day over regional

This is a self-centered, obsolete, and entitled mentality.

The best advice is: "go as far and as fast as you possibly can to get to your destination airline as quick as possible"

There is nothign wrong with going to the regionals first, there are indeed lots of things to learn there, but if one is able to get to a better place first, then why not?

So in the next 5 years they'll hire 12,000 pilots and will have a seniority list of 25,000+ pilots? In 10 yrs they'll have 33-34,000 pilots?

Everything is subject to adjust with the passage of time.

leadership has said 28,000 pilots by the end of the decade, yes.

of course, I don't know of a single other pilot who actually believes that’ll happen.

Yes everything adjusts, they said 28k at end of decade. They play the long game and make plans, we fly the planes! I think most of would be thrilled to hit 20k in that time frame. Personally I’m ecstatic for every year that passes and we add people and planes

Bingo. Plans matter but making BIG personal decisions based on forecasts is fraught with risk. It's a bit safer to 'wind the watch' and delay major personal plans based on the company's forecasts AFTER the ship has showed up in port. Or at least when the harbor pilot has jumped onboard!
