Not yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there isn’t going to be one. They didn’t post one for 2025 either as they wanted to stay very dynamic in hiring and class dates depending on delivery issues and the economy.

2026 could possibly be more of the same. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing as big hiring numbers are still planned. It’s just a question of when and how often the classes will run to achieve the planned numbers.

Today's new hire class is 77 pilots. Any idea what the exact number is for the 2025 YTD? Wonder if the classes are still predominantly Spirit pilots. Pretty nice to get hired while a vacancy bid is open which mostly negates what is offered in new hire since you can just bid something else.

Only 1 class/mo scheduled from May-November.

Also, “The BI classes in May through September will be re-evaluated in upcoming months and may eventually be canceled if demand for new hires decreases further.”

This is why all hiring forecasts, both large and small, are only forecasts. We are about 600 pilots ahead of this hiring estimate from November of last year. It does seem we are on a multi-year upswing now that deliveries are ramping up, but only time will tell.

When does the vacancy close? Just curious on timing as a new hire

It closes on the 13th. Once you get CCS access just go to "Vacancy Bidding" and put in what you want. You'll know if you did it correctly if you see your name on the snapshots. Most of the FO categories have dozens of unfilled slots.

would you say 28k pilots by 2030 looks achievable?

We have 278 more MAX planes, 214 more 321 NEO/XLR and 141 more 787s being delivered by 2030. That's 633 more planes. Sure about 150 of those will replace older planes and we have still not announced an order for the 777-200s which is still a few months away from an announcement. If we add almost 500 planes to the fleet we will be at 28,000 or pretty close. This means a pilot hired today, with attrition will be between 50-60% total system seniority in 5 years.

I have no idea if it will happen and since I retire in 2030 doesn't matter that much. But its nice for the young guys to have a better career than many of my friends hired after me that got stuck on the bottom for many years.

Lucky enough to have an upcoming interview with UAL. Any advice from folks who have recently interviewed? I know the obvious answer is hire a prep company, which I have. But I also think that has backfired on me in the past when I interviewed for another legacy and got the dreaded TBNT. Maybe I was too scripted/over prepared? United has always been my dream. I have mil and 121 experience.

Prep like it’s a type rating, man. I suggest Spitfire. They’ll do right by you by getting you prepped and not sounding like some sort of AI Bot.

Spitfire is who I use and have used in past. Good guys. I have a couple more years of 121 under my belt since my TBNT so hopefully that helps.
