By all means show us what other major airline pilot groups did for fellow pilots from failing airlines like when Eastern went under or when they bought Pan Am/TWA routes. That's right, nothing.

BS. UALPA has a long history of helping Pan Am, Eastern, and other ALPA pilots during times of distress get hired at United. Does it help that UA needs many pilots? Of course it does. As a United pilot I am excited that many Spirit pilots are coming to United. Many of these pilots walked the walk when they successfully struck Spirit in a brilliantly organized action. All of these pilots from these other airlines have strengthened United and our pilot group.

It’s impossible to say, but *right now* that’s a bit low TT and PIC. But if we do hire a few hundred this year, 2500 next year, and other majors and legacies pick up hiring next year, and there aren’t any more Spirit pilots to steal I’m sure the bar will drop down where that is competitive again. But there are also factors at play like whose regional you fly for that you didn’t mention.
it’s tough for everyone right now. 7000+ hours. 1300 tpic 757/767 type and had the app in for a year and nothing. 8 letters of rec. 4 internal. Cp meet and greet 10 months ago. |
Milton,
Your times look competitive, but there might be something in your app. At this stage of the process you’re applying to a computer, not a human being, so something could be causing it to overlook you. My advice would be to spend a few $$ at your preferred interview prep company for an application review and see if that gets things moving. All the best, E |
