the United NEOs are not ETOPS certified so they will not be taking over 757 flying yet.

yep but without ACTs they will only be going to Hawaii from SFO/LAX that is no longer 757 flying as it is.
just to wrap this up since we are all talking in circles, the original question was “I wonder when the NEO will start taking over the 757 flying” and the answer is not for awhile.

The 757 replacement was never targeted to be done by the NEO. (Unless you mean some hub to hub or florida turns) The XLR order is for replacement of the 757-200's to Europe.
