If Spirit and JetBlue deferred their orders then these will probably go to Saudia who are on hold since October 2023 by Airbus for confirmation for 150+ A320s.
They said they would announce late December but still nothing. I'm betting on them |

The 787-9 and -10 IGW models coming out will be hard to be beat. They should be able to cover the retiring 777s. I am assuming the majority of UA's 200+ 787 order will be the new IGW variant. Hopefully the FAA and Boeing will get it certified relatively fast.

This would be very interesting if it were us. Kirby mentioned that he would order 321NEOs if the price made sense. Sounded like it was dead in the water unless they got something worked out.
As far as WB, he mentioned that the 350/330s don’t make sense. Adding another type is very expensive and those planes would need to do the mission that others can’t. Only reason to have 350s is if we can overfly Russian airspace and that’s not happening anytime soon. Id love to see the 350 on property. I think it would look like a sweet airplane with our livery on it |

And airbus told united the price is the price and Kirby said no thanks, not paying that much. Game over.

Weird because we already have 165 A-321s on order. So apparently we are willing to pay that price.

Why in the world would airlines with order slots defer them and potentially bail out a competitor?
Makes no sense. |

Yes, orders placed in 2019 and 2021 at prices far below what it would cost now plus the last delivery will be made in 2032. So...
Hmmm. So the 60 additional 321's ordered last year, or the 35 addtional leased ones announced last month were really from 2019/2021? |
Don't see 330's making too much sense unless we're reeeally worried about 787 having delivery issues. Now, the 350, especially 350 1k gives us a 777 replacement and range no other jet has. An airframe to introduce rumored new luxury Polaris product. As well as the all so important fleet diversification we need. Imo, a successful formula for future is 50/50 737/320 family, and 50/50 787/350 family. Variants of such to try to puzzle together 756 replacement. Hope we get 350!!

https://www.airbus.com/en/newsroom/p...atlantic-route https://www.airbus.com/en/newsroom/p...21neo-aircraft From the second link: Herndon, Virginia, 29 June 2021 - United Airlines has placed an order for 70 Airbus A321neo aircraft, positioning the airline to grow its presence in the single-aisle market in alignment with its “United Next” initiative. The new order complements existing orders from United for 50 A321XLR aircraft, bringing the total commitment from the airline to 120 A321 aircraft. 50 A321XLR in 2019 70 A321neo in 2021 (Bold mine) |
