KCM Rate

Let’s assign blame where it’s due. TSA is not doing this to annoy us. They’re doing it because we’ve got pilots getting caught in all sorts of KCM violations, & until that nonsense stops, there’s no reason to reduce the random rate. And If one of these idiots ever ends up tied to some actual incident that reaches the public’s attention we’re not only going to lose KCM, but be subjected to regular screening BEYOND what your average passenger goes through.
There’s plenty to complain about when it comes to TSA “logic”, but in this case we’ve been behaving like a group who can’t handle having nice things.

Did you ever fly post 9/11 but before we had KCM?

Y'all need to go down to Artesia. Never do random again. Flash the cred and give them your best FU smile .... with a head nod and a wink. Walk on by, go about your bidness. Same goes for any secondary screening. Politely decline, grinning like a possum eating shat. Don't do random... ain't nobody got time for that.

I definitely feel like an outsider here, but I don't really care if I get randomed or not. The I don't get to my next layover hotel or back to my house any faster. Everything still leaves when it otherwise would. I still go get a coffee, chat with the gate agents, everything I normally would. It doesn't even rise to the level of "inconvenience" to get randomed. Shrug, walk somewhere else, walk through a machine.
Y'all are making it sound like they're asking you to go do an obstacle course or something.

Yes you're an outsider. You must be SFO or IAD based, where when you get randomed you basically continue on your same trajectory. I hope to get randomed at those places to "meet my quota" if you will. Most places, when you get randomed, it involves a walk and hassle.😑 Now I have to get behind mom and the double wide stroller, take my jacket off and there are zero bins to be found, etc, etc.

At this point, I no longer care. I was waiting 5 min in the KCM line in DEN watching EVERYONE get radnomed. I knew it would have been quicker just to "random" myself early and go through pre-check, but it was 5am and my IDGAF factor was at an 11. It turns out I broke the streak and didn't get randomed, but it still would have been quicker to skip KCM and go to pre-check. On my next trip, I will be utilizing pre-check whenever it is easier.

Much like every "program" the govt takes over, it eventually wears you down to just acceptance of mediocrity. At first there is anger and frustration, but finally the populace just acquiesces and accepts their fate full of incongruency and inefficiency. Think healthcare, welfare, security, etc.
