Stowaway Found Dead ORD-PHOG
#1
Looks like a dead body was found in wheel well compartment on a UAL202 from ORD-PHOG yesterday.
Now, I'm just going to go out on a limb and say this stowaway was from the previous flight which was coming from San Paulo, Brazil (Although, I hear Chicagostan is getting pretty bad nowadays). Anyways, if from Brazil, what a damning indictment on both the flight crew and ground crew in ORD for not catching this in Chicago. If an actual walk-around was performed, there is no way a dead body would be left unnoticed in the wheel well. Cold ears in Chicago are not a valid reason for skipping a walk-around, haha. Can anyone confirm yet if the stowaway was from Chicago or Brazil?

It’s a 787, not an open and eye level wheel welled 737 with a dead body hanging out. It’s very possible the body wouldn’t be visible unless it was positioned just right. I agree with your theory that it was there from the previous inbound flight, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it was easily visible and missed by a neglectful pilot. (Unless they are senior to me. Then it was all their fault and they need to be fired for their heinous walk-around).
Back in the bad old days on the 727 we would pull the MX release on the doors during the walk-around to get a better look. Since that went by the wayside long ago I agree with your analysis, there is more than enough room behind the gear door for a body to be hidden.
However if he was dead when the doors opened on approach I would have expected him to fall out then.

Oh holiest captain (guessing you don't deserve the capital "C"), I'm sorry you were not around to whip everyone into tip top shape.
