just to slow your roll a bit. The new gates coming at IAD next year are not all WB gates. It is 14 gates total for Terminal E (or 7 WB gates) and there will not be any FIS within the terminal until Tier 2 is completed (as of now sometime in 2030) so either connections will ride the people movers to C or to the main terminal to clear customs.
so yes more gates coming which is a good thing, just not as good as you hoped.

Ya, I think it stems from our stubbornness over the MRO deal. From what I've heard, that was a make or break item for these 787s.
"Big," in relation to a Delta WB order is very relative lol.

We have have over 200 787s before they get their first, but still its great for them because its upgauging their current 767s and means they will have WB planes well into the future, even though most of my peers will have retired before the first plane arrives.
