Got it during Indoc.

I think we all got it regardless of fleet but I already forgot. I'm at my career airline anyway and just to get here, had to get the jab to get a job offer at a regional. Would never have been to crack a major by 40 if I didn't sacrifice but...we all got things we choose to sacrifice in some way.

There are worse things out there like in Asia, that stuff carried by the Japanese mosquito or something.

Never go on the widebodies and you won't have to worry about it

Did United STATE in the application that a yellow fever vaccination is required?

I believe they do.

WHY would they say this?

Yet here you are, not even on property, planning on asking for a RAP……. WTF!

How about you go to AA? I don’t think it’s a requirement over there, but I could be wrong…..

Maybe the dude's ex and kids live in a UA base, and maybe he has a medical reason to not get it?

Possibly, but I think RAPs of this nature have become very popular since COVID, just like podcasts and those infectious disease experts that fly for airlines. It’s stated in the conditions of employment, on the application, if I remember correctly. I could be wrong. Now, could UA make an exception? Absolutely! IIRC, they ask for it in BI.

Moreover, with the advent of long range narrow body flights that may be going a lot farther (321 XLR for example), there may not be any fleets that don’t have any possibility of going to a YF endemic area, making the company even more adamant that everyone receive the immunization). CRAF flights may also become an issue, especially if we get involved in Venezuela.

I would agree that if you don't have any fleets which don't fly to those places, then you shouldn't need to bend over backwards to that degree. Reasonable accommodation has it's limits.

Problem being, if the company sends you into those areas and you get sick, they're stuck paying for it.
