United New Hire Classes
Hi,
Does anyone know how many classes UA is starting per month? How many in each class? Equipment awarded and domiciles?
Is IAD still a junior base? Is there any new hires going directly to the 757/767 or are those slots (if there are any) going to recalled pilots?
Are the classes still a mix of new hires and recalls or are the recalls completed by now?
Thanks

All the recalls are finished. There are several hundred military leave guys that trickle in and out that occupy training. This months vacancy list was for 113 positions- 56 Captain and 57 FO. New hires are only going to the 320/737 but basically all bases have NB openings. IAD and ORD are going junior. So for new hires, it will just depend on that months openings. However, probably potential to trade into a preferred domicile during training.

Since you guys are sincerely interested; here are last months NB FO UNFILLED VACANCY numbers. The unfilled part is what proceeds to new hires. 320: IAD-7, ORD-5, DEN-4, LAX-11, SFO-9. For the mighty Boeing 737: IAD-9, ORD-13, DEN-3. Grand total of 61 NB "help wanted" signs. The monthly vacany list can vary greatly by fleet, seat but anticipate continued hiring until Age 65 passes or UAL buys somebody.

what are the chances of getting hired at United with: ATP, 3000 TT, 1400 PIC, 1400 SIC Turbine part 121 jet (zero turbine PIC), 1600 multi, 4 Year Degree in Engineering, minors in Aviation related fields. 2 letters of rec. from retired United Captains. Any chance of getting the job without any turbine PIC???

I apologize if this has been covered elsewhere, but what are the odds of UAL crews getting some pay back? I just looked at their profile, and those rates are just awful! I know the whole backstory, of course, but I didn't realize quite how big a hit they had taken. And that's from the perspective of a regional guy! I sure hope they get some back SOON!
