Interesting that everyone over here only has to attend a 2 day sim check once a year while you have every 9 months. You can bet on the much cheaper once a year program probably surviving the merger if Jefferey has anything to do with it.
Didn't matter if you were a narrowbody guy flying 4 legs a day, everyone went on the 9 month cycle. Although we have to go to "the building" more often, the pace is slower than it was when we just went annually for a PC as they don't have to cram as much in per day. We'll see if Jefferey can convince the POI that once every 12 months is enough. May depend on which POI becomes the MFWIC after combined Ops start. Snake |

We went on the 9 month cycle after a near catastrophe at SFO where one of our -400s had an engine problem on departure and almost became a fireball atop Mt San Bruno. One of the resulting changes was a shorter cycle through the sim for V1 cuts, etc.

I would bet the UAL 9 month vs the CAL Annual Sim thrashing will have a lot to do with which Operating Certificate they use post merger. Will be interesting to see what training changes come about fleets wide come post merger. Without a doubt, I'm sure they will push for the most 'economical' path....unfortunately. |

You obviously have not had to sit next to many of them for 5+ hours. I disagree with your observation.

Don't forget the elite "SUPER-SUPER's"???

From what I was told, the incident that you cited above had a lot to do with CAL's PC Profile (B756) from this past year while doing all the E.O. Profile work in SFO....interesting.
