Default Discuss your reps

I am a EWR based CAL Capt and since we are merging the issue of representation has to be discussed. I am completely dissapointed with the lack of success of campaign promises made by the CAL EWR reps. Jayson Baron and Tara Cook are an absolute failure in how they are handling things. Tim Boyens Sec/Treas., I do not know; but he seems to be more in tune with the base and what is or is not important.

I really did not know Jayson but listened to him intently during his self promoting tour and in a nutshell has not accomplished one thing promised! Mrs. Cook seems to just follow whatever she feels will keep her from the lime-light whether it is to just fall in line with Jay Pierce or simply follow Jayson to wherever they are headed.

Also, we elected a Vice Chair/MEC to the union that had no previous ALPA experience at national, local rep elected experience, ALPA or CAL IACP Negotiating experience, or committee chairmanship experience within CAL or ALPA. How stupid is that?

I'm not a fan nor against our current MEC Chairman but with his experience in management at CALX and his experience as a negotiating Chair at CAL ALPA I can assure everyone our Vice Chair only knows what our Chair chooses for him to know. Our Vice Chair seems to be a nice guy but he is outta his league down there IMHO.

Please United pilots remember this when the dual base elections come forth next year.

CLE reps are no where to be found on their own forum and Guam? Well Guam is and always will be Guam. IAH has a battlestar Capt rep and an FO rep that loves to hear herself talk. But IAH seems to be doing OK for the most part. EWR and CLE are absolute jokes!

No it's not Shannon Smith and for you to put something out there like that without justification is pretty reckless. You state your name and I will be more than happy to post mine as well otherwise you need to remove your comment. I would venture to bet you are one of the EWR reps in question or the Vice Chair. Either way doesn not matter.

BTW, I do know who Shannon is and his record of accomplishments with regards to any union position he has taken has never been questioned from my past experience. I will copy this post you've written and email it to him as I am am unaware if he is on this forum or not.

Shannon and I do not agree on everything but he has never had issue with putting his name forward on anything he writes. Unlike you apparently. All I know is he was a big part of the push for flow thru from CALX to CAL and 1800 pilots benefited in one form or another. Also, I recall he was never recalled from any union position and in fact won re election several times. Seems you are the one with issues.

BTW, my initials are DS you coward.

So first you throw out unwarranted comments about a third party when you do not know for sure who it is. Then you get a reply and decide to refer to me as a troll.

I guess I have no right to express my displeasure with the EWR and CLE reps as a dues paying member of ALPA. Imagine that! Waht a surprise. I would venture to bet without any doubt that you are most definitly one of those I mention on this thread I started. Typical current leadership we have here if that is the case. Either way you either or one of them or you support them and your cowardly approach to this clearly signified why there must be a change and the sooner the better.

So I'll ask again. Is there any United pilots who would like to discuss their reps? For me and I think my opinion matters unlike the CAL pilot above who thinks otherwise, I am unhappy with the current EWR reps. Sorry he/she could not simply say he is pleased with his/her work and express their opinion that way. Instead in typical EWR rep format they attack anyone who dissagrees with them by calling them trolls.

Now this forum is starting to get good. Maybe the Crack Pipe children will start coming around here.

Seems to me that YOU are the coward. Why don't you just get on the horn and call your rep instead of whining about it to the faceless masses on this forum? You're nothing but a gossip hound. Don't you have anything better to do?

To play devil's advocate on this point alone, many would see this as a breath of fresh air. There are constant complaints of union ALPA cronies and the same people serving over and over again. Someone new who doesn't have all that baggage for everyone to use against him could be a good thing.

However, I guess there will be complaints either way based on what you posted.

So it is innapropriate to state you are frustrated with your reps and how they handle things and it is innapropriate to ask the United pilots for their opinions of their NY reps considering the combined group will be electing new reps for the NY base probably in the next 9 months. How are CAL pilots supposed to know the names and records of the current United NY reps and how are the United pilots supposed to know the reps from CAL without some dialogue going back and forth?

No wonder union reps get in and achieve nothing. The typical airline pilot is always turning a deaf ear.

As for faceless masses. I thought this forum was for the CAL/United merger. And what part of my thread was gossip? I said I was dissapointed with my EWR reps. Am I not entitled to that opinion? When they give up scope I don't want to hear one sound bite from you on it...OK!

Apparently you are just one of the sheep in this business...bah bah bah. Follow the leader....
