I'm glad you posted this 757Driver. To me it brings to light the fact that we should STOP the bickering about banding, and return our focus to getting the JCBA done STAT with Scope nailed down. I keep hearing that the CAL guys are on their forums saying "take your time.. no rush" to getting this deal done, so hopefully THIS arrogant move by management will change that philosophy.
By the way, Skywest is shrinking its ORD presence by about half to move the airplanes down to IAH. Clearly its the CAL pilots who are going to lose in this latest Scope nightmare. The only way I see to stem this tide is refocus on the SCOPE in our JCBA and move past this ridiculous banding vs. unbanding issue. KILL the 70's. Well we (UAL and CAL) pilots certainly support keeping their scope in place. No debate there and we will all fight for this together, however, as a UAL pilot I can multitask and carry on both fight the good fight on the banding issue as well |

While we could have a very long talk about numerous tactical errors made by UAL ALPA wearing "A Plan" glasses, essentially, that is the catalyst that led U to where it is. I really hope you are right about scope being in the sight picture of both MEC's and that they realize any gain made in a JCBA and however the SLI comes out, will only be temporary gains should scope not be reeled in to stop the outsourcing domestically and JV's on the international side. "Finally this week, the scheduling and procedures for the expedited arbitration on the Scope violation have been finalized. The hearing will be held the second week of December, with a decision rendered no later than Dec. 30, 2010, well prior to the flight start dates." |

ALPA's track record would indicate that they're focusing their efforts on bringing Skywest under the ALPA umbrella. That way, the IAH jobs at least stay within ALPA. :mad:
