Be very careful assuming all emp #'s ending in alpha are 1983 or later...John Prater's ends in "L"...nnnnL. The common perception of the "rule" is not absolutely correct.

Had a CAL J/S the other day going from SFO to LAX. He had an "H" at the end of his employee ID. LAX 737 CAP Garcia. I remember somewhere back in the recesses of the synopsis that the "H" meant something but I can't remember what.
Please tell me I didn't let a scab on my J/S. If I did ... shame on me and can someone please direct me to the CA Scab list.
Much obliged!

The Capt mentioned above who rode your J/S is a CAL '83 SCAB presently based in the above mentioned base.
I thought all L-UAL Capt's carried a bound list right long side their manuals......No??

Word to the wise.....IF your going to go by the "Letter Rule" in a L-CAL Employee number to denote who is/or is not a S*C*A*B, you best know what/who your talking to. As mentioned earlier, that "Letter Rule" does not always apply exclusively to "S"s. You'd look like a j-a$$ tossing out that "S" word in the direction of a NON-"S" at L-CAL.....Might even receive a little chin music by some of the wrongfully accused if you get my drift.
Speak with some of your L-UAL brethren and get hold of a copy....You'll need it in the future. UNFORTUNATELY there are plenty about on both sides from this Merger.

Can't wait to get my iPad and start messing around with it. I suspect there's a way to alphabetize things and have them quickly accessible. Sorta like the index in the FOM and other vital info. Shopping list, grocery list, Christmas list, Hardware store list......
