Here is the new Skywest travel policy
United Mainline flights: SkyWest employees, retirees and eligible pass riders will board before unaccompanied United Companion and alliance airline pass riders.
NICE. Skywest employee's Mom goes ahead of my companions. For those of you that are not familiar, this is a CHANGE. Our companions used to go ahead of Skywest on our own metal. Just another example of where this airline is going. Our airline continues down the path of being run to accommodate Skywest and our other regional carriers. This industry is a total joke.

Wait. It gets even better. Skywest employees can now designate two eligible friends (one if married and a spouse already designated). So let me put this in perspective. A 1 year Skywest flight attendant can designate her cousin's sister's boyfriends ex-wife's son-in-law as a travel eligible, and that guy goes ahead of my Companions ON OUR OWN AIRPLANE.
I realize that there are much bigger fish to fry here, but it just goes to show you how big the Skywest tumor on our brain has grown

This will apply to the new United as of the end of the first quarter.
As an ExpressJet pilot I love it and was surprised how good they seem to be. I however do understand the frustration of mainline guys. Hopefully this can be one more motivating factor in taking scope and getting an awesome JCBA.

You are reading the wrong message here.
What is being said is: THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SKYWEST AND UAL.
What this proclaims is Skywest is United. But for some strange reason they are not covered the UAL pilot contract. How can that be????

I think that the Skywest update was premature unless they're now travelling on mainline metal as BP-8B.
In the new travel program, it looks like Skywest will go in front of unaccompanied companions. I assume that Skywest would fall into category F and unaccompanied companions would be category H. I think it goes into effect in April.
E.Employees' and retirees' unaccompanied eligible pass riders (including enrolled friends) traveling on a personal pass
Employees' adult children who are traveling unaccompanied on an extended family buddy pass
F.Continental subsidiary early-out program eligible pass riders and eligible pass riders who are participants in the 2011 (and beyond) United early-out program
Priority other airline (alliances) employees, retirees and their eligible pass riders
G.Extended family buddy pass riders (other than employees' adult children) traveling unaccompanied
H.Regular buddy pass riders traveling unaccompanied
I.Non-priority other airline (non-alliance) employees, retirees and their eligible pass riders
J.Employees who elect to stand by for service-charge- waived pass travel, system-wide in any class of service, rather than paying service charges to travel at a higher boarding priority
*Enrolled friends do not have the same boarding priority as spouses or domestic partners in these cases.
Qualification as a "spouse" or "domestic partner" (or other status under this policy) is determined under company policy and is subject to verification.
