And they talk about how their "career expectations" are so much better than ours (even though many have been furloughed for 10 years or so). Still trying to figure out how someone with NO JOB has career expectations.........

Give it a rest Karl. If we were in another line of work, I'd tell you to grab a joint pronto.

Well this statement certainly blows the UAL "career expectations" out of the water. I've been at CAL since mid 1998, flowed back to Express for eight months, and have been a captain at CAL for five years. Guess CAL pilots career expectations must be a LOT better than L-UAL.

Well fortunately for R-UAL, longevity will be taken into account by the arbitrators. Guess the blows your seniority fantasy grab out of the water.

See, two can play that game.

All this stuff is doing nothing but ****ing each other off. One thing is for sure our opinions will not be considered by the arbitrators. That goes for both sides

Not really. If UAL had stayed independent, I would have been top 10 when I retire. So that's the CAREER expectation I have going into this. Time will tell if that career expectation is honored. I have my guess.. We just have different blocks of heavy retirements.

You've illustrated my concern, though. There is a post about United pilots somehow getting a seniority bump through the merger and now holding Captain spots (turned out to be false). This is followed up by a post jockeying for position about career expectation. No matter how this all goes, there are going to be some pilots that get "hosed" and some that get a windfall. We all need to remember that it is going to feel world-class cruddy for those that don't fare as well in the SLI, and show a little tact.

10-4 to that! There are 132 people on the LUA seniority list that are both senior to me and younger than me. I would retire #134, the about the top 1200 are WB captains. I call that career expectations. This argument is all out of our control and only will be decided by Arbitrators and NOBODY will be happy with the result, (except the #1 pilot on the combined list) so lets not all go there. Nothing positive will come from a wedge between our group. The JCBA is our #1 and only issue now.

1437 pilots have NO CAREER EXPECTATIONS when they are UNEMPLOYED! You don't understand that? Basic 101 stuff. BTW, how much longevity do you accrue when you're unemployed? My guess is ZERO..................

So why don't you tell me this to my face since you seem to THINK you know me? I'm free to post whatever I want. You don't like it? Put me on IGNORE............EASY..............!

Career expectations are only if your company stays in business. Three years ago UAL was dying on the vine. Don't know of too many arbitrators that would have said you had much to look forward to. JMHO

I agree with what you've said......to a point. Pilots on property are totally different than pilots who aren't. And as a few have said, anyone that has a seniority number of 2 or less isn't going to be happy................ :o
