Ahh. Funny, $170 is what I made as a 4th year F/O in 2000. Well, $169 to be exact. You see, in 2000 our 1994 ESOP contract was up and we were ticked. Guys that did jrm got their schedules posted on the wall of shame and got nastygrams in their v-file. Check airmen refused to do OE for new hires, resulting in massive training logjams. We got our contract in late 2000. $300+ per hour for the w/b's. $200+ for the n/b's. And contrary to popular belief, not one 70 seat RJ was given for those rates. Not one. In fact, the scope clause of 2000 was better than Cal's current clause because not only was it 50 seats max, it was also tied to the # of mainline aircraft.

Whoring this summer should not be tolerated. There will be plenty of time for that after we force a contract. It's up to you guys at CAL, as we are still pretty FAT here at UAL - but we will do what we can. And now, back to my half month of sick leave. I....want to soak up the sun.....

It's amazing to me how flying over 90 hours a month has become the norm at L-CAL. I have pilots coming up to me all the time almost bragging about it. Had someone just tell me he's billing the company 103 hours for March. He's a 737 fo. This is the culture Fred A. wants. Look at L-Cal FA. Some working over 150 hours per month.

I hope SOMEBODY has a plan for when the retirements kick in...:confused:

Seriously though, I do want to see them get it over with: get us a contract with work rules and staffing rules that will make these "opportunities" unnecessary!

Actually, Jay did send a letter to those accusing us of a sickout and calling them out on their claim that we (the CAL pilots) are under the same injunction as the UAL pilots and that we were in fact doing a sickout. The union demanded that the company provide proof of their claim of a sickout for those 28 cancellations last summer, other than pronouncements to the press. On future MEC conference calls he stated that no proof was ever provided. Didn't exactly get a public apology from the company or anything.

But , difference between "sickout" and VOLUNTARY junior manning is the word VOLUNTARY . Just say no to jm.

When I was a senior FO I never picked up open time. Flew my 80 hours and went home. Otto, sounds like you are doing the same? I've just done my 3rd fatigue call in the last 4 months, because of the schedules us junior peeps are getting. I also have a few sick calls in there. My motto is if it's unsafe I don't do it. I Filled out FSAP on everyone.
