Funny story, last year when the CAL LAX ops went to a self serve operation I was passing thru on day 1 of a trip and the last ops guy was setting up the computers for us to get paperwork and the LAX pilots company v-files (place for revisions, flaming bags of poo, etc) was over in a corner. Came thru 2 days later and the v-files had been moved behind a locked door and that pictoral scab list had been tacked to the wall with a HUGE felt marker SCAB written on the wall with an <--- pointing to the list.

Only took two days of no supervision, cracked me up. Lotsa Scabs in LA for CAL, percentage wise.

CAL had a few that hadn't reached their full potential after crossing the PATCO strike line, when they came to CAL in the early 83 classes. Now that's ingrained genetics.

Ick. Feel like I need a bath after perusing those pages. A few familiar faces. At least a couple that I knew have been gone for years. Can't wait till they're all gone - anyone know when the last one retires? Should have a huge party to show his pathetic ass out the door...

Some of those guys look old considering they have 15+ years to go.

I wondered when these guys would be mentioned here. A whole pack of TRUE EASTERN SCABS migrated to CAL from Express One Int'l in '97/'98. Doubt they mention much about their past lives when flying with them.

For someone who wasn't around when all these strikes were going around , are there any books or written documents that sum up the story of the scab incidents that took place ?

Saw one from college. She slept her way through it, and we all had bets that she'd be one of the first in line there. Didn't disappoint. Funny thing is a Fed I know flew with a DC-10 crew years later and her name was brought up. Crew said even the scabs hated her.

Another guy was a surprise. Knew him when he was a CFI in the NE. Last thing I'd have expected from him.

Theres a guy on there whos daughter used to be an FA where I last worked. Boy was she proud of Daddy. I knew the whole time he was on there and I wanted to vomit listening to her.

Flying The Line by George Hopkins - volumes 1&2 are a great history lesson. Also "From Wooden Wings" was required reading for all UAL new-hires. Here's a link:
