Here is a sad thing. I know a guy who wanted me to "getting him in" at the regional I used to work at. 20 years old-400 hours Total Time. I told him to get some real world experience, and I would help. Needless to say, I found out he was contacting everybody he could to get into a regional. You see, flight instructing, flying checks, etc was beneath him. Well he got hire last summer, with no help from me.

Not long ago, he had heard about the potential strike, and the possibility of "a line to cross" he asked if I would cross the line to get off furlough (1437) I gave him a few choice words regarding that, to paraphrase I said NO. He told me he would be the first one in line, because flying for a regional sucks, and his superior flying skills would be better appreciated at a major. And if the opportunity is there, why should he do it by the numbers, when he can just jump to "Where he belongs" I have tried to tell him what a bad attitude that is in this industry, that that could burn a lot of bridges, but he doesn't care.

He now had asked if a strike comes and pilots start crossing lines, to please call him ASAP. These kids, I tell you.

Lists are great and all, but being in the 21st century I'm really surprised no one has made a 'Scab App' for smart phone devices. Names, past histories, commuting details.

Great idea...we could all install on the company issued IPADS so that the scabs working for management monitoring the IPADs information could see their pictures. :)
