New Uniforms
#2
Have it set?? Not going to happen any time soon. UAL side has several resolutions that we will not wear the new uniform regardless until we have a contract and an ISL.
Yes, we have veto power written into the contract.

21-C Any change or alteration to the pilot uniform must be with the
concurrence of the Uniform Committee.

Personally, I don't like looking like crap in an old uniform so I'm glad to get a new uniform that I don't have to pay for.

What would you say if you walked into your doctors office to have surgery done and the doctor had stains all over his scrubs, and looked like crap? Would you be ready to give him more of your business? Probably not..........yet you want to look like crap and be respected? I'm not sure why you think looking pathetic is the way to go. You represent a PROFESSION, and you're doing a bad job of it IMHO. Management is all screwed up, but looking like a garbage pit doesn't do much to instill confidence in the passengers and SURE doesn't help win us much support. When I see a pilot looking like crap all it means to me is that is that they are not happy with what they do and have no pride in THEMSELVES. Their are plenty of ways to voice disapproval, but looking like a dredge of society is not one of them. Flame away...............

I offer a level of safety to my passengers that is well above the level of my compensation. My 10+ year old uniform has no bearing on that.
I no longer look for respect or strive to earn it. The last 10 years have cemented that thought. I want to be paid for the safety I offer my passengers from A to B. I want to enjoy what is important, my life away from work.
