Another spin to this. United is said to be 400 pilots surplus right now. Cal needed 3-400 pilots for rest rules deadline but also for new contract (think combined company may need 800 or so pilots). Contract will be UA work rules plused up a little. If there was a building of one side and a destruction of another, then why bring the 739 order to UAL to replace the 752s? Wouldn't it be better to bring them over to Cal? Maybe it's not be a malicious as we think.
Disclaimer: our mgmt is horrible and are haters of labor, especially pilots.

And 757Driver, I took the job so I could vote no on a contract. I would never have gone to CAL otherwise.

What 76 flying has been lost, I think that 2 767-200's were retired (which supposedly is why the CAL pilots got a bonus), the rest is still there, it has just been moved to Newark.

If you can show me where those 739s will be coming to the UAL side of the house, I would appreciate it. OH, I know what they SAID. The 739s will replace l-UAL 757s. Got it. And they may have even SAID that we would be flying them here at l-UAL. But until I am on IOE, I won't believe an f'n word. Why should I?

Couldn't agree more. Talk is cheap, especially from our mgmt and they haven't given reason to trust or believe them. I'll try and see if I can get the info for you and post it. I just don't think the demise of L-UA is there. Maybe spending some time at TK working through projects with L-UA professionals has tainted me.

It's obvious....
UCH Plan A: Scare LUAL pilots into YES vote over fear of TPA expirations.
UCH Plan B: Take advantage of expired TPA sections and further shrink LUAL.
...what cadetdrivr said.

From: Boeing's Plastic Jet Button Pusher - 787
IAH is "fix'in" (as them Texans say) to loose just about all it's B767 to have it redeployed back up to EWR.
