Default Pay in CAL training

Pardon my ignorance, but does anybody recall if Continental pays per diem while in training? If it matters, I'm a UAL furloughee. Thanks.

Yes, I actually just re-read my CAL packet. Per Diem will be paid while in training at a rate of $44 a day. But not sure it that in continuous, of just the physical days in training

"Expense allowance (per diem) for time away from Base will be paid for each training event (excluding initial operating experience), including days off and applicable travel days, and appropriate to the location of training (i.e., Basic or Premium), from the first day of such training to the last training day, in accordance with the rates in Paragraph A above, multiplied by twenty-four (24) for each such day or partial day."

Never mind, I found it. If anybody else is wondering, "Training pay is calculated at 2:24 hours per day... Per diem will be paid ... at the rate of $44.oo per day."

So 2.4 * $31 ($74.40) is training pay? Is that for the 4-6 weeks or only during days actually at the school house? Seems kind of low but I may be way off.

You get per diem, $44 a day, for the entire time you are in training, including off days, regardless of your base. If you're UAL, then you get your last UAL rate at 72 hours per month until you finish O.E.

I went thru it myself a few months back, IAH based.
