Over the last two weeks, the JNC continued meeting in Chicago, transforming the AIP and the numerous issues resolved almost three weeks ago with the National Mediation Board into contractual language. Most of our time was spent focusing on Retirement and Insurance, Hours of Service, Scheduling, Crew Rest Facilities, and Instructors. The Retirement and Insurance section, one of the most difficult and complex, is nearly complete thanks to the hard work of the UAL and CAL MEC R&I SMEs and attorney advisors. Scope, too, which is also extremely intricate, is complete. In addition, the Scheduling group and attorneys made significant progress on Section 5, Hours of Service, whose difficulty has been compounded due to the recent passage of FAR 117; the Crew Rest provisions have also nearly been finalized.
Language issues in the Instructor section raised some disagreements as to the substance of the underlying Agreement in Principle on that section. However, we worked with management to implement process changes that we believe will help to resolve the Instructors section and minimize similar problems in the future. In addition, we continue to work with management, reviewing and clarifying issues with language in other sections as they arise. We continue working as expeditiously as possible while making sure the JCBA is as clear as possible.
As always, please stay connected to the process by reading updates from the MEC and your local Council representatives.

Lee, I usually find your posts informative and free from the petty vitriol that sometimes can be found here, but I don't see the correlation between your title and the message? I see some specific information regarding the status of the most important CBA issues, ie R&I - nearly Done and Scope - Done. Since these big ticket items are always the last to be resolved I see that we are in the end game. Then we vote NO.

Congratulations! Your new car is almost ready for pick up! A few small remaining items such as finding an engine, interior, and selecting an exterior color are the only things holding us up! The emergency parking brake is working (not an easy feat, but it IS done), and we've been unable to get the transmission out of "park".............."reverse" works well however! We're happy to pass this information on to you and hope you look forward to getting your final vehicle!...........

Yes, We have renewed the process, to review the finial Agreement to finalize the language of the finial Agreement in principle. It will then be sent to the committee for finial review after the finial agreement was failed to be reached.....
What a joke...
If the United Pilots started a Blaze like the APA guy's this would have be done months ago...

The UAL/CAL Pilot's need to stop being Chumps and take a stand....

Using the car sale analogy, is this the part of the contract where we meet with the finance "manager" who tries to sell you extended warranties, tire coverage, undercoating, nitrogen filled tires, and their own financing, even though you're paying in cash.

If it's not 100% retro why bother wasting any more of your time reading?
Please define your definition of "100% retro" for your pilot group and the other pilot group (whichever side you're on) and how should it be paid out?
