Has to do with Sandy...
And this one I agree. I live local, by the water.. I would hope that my fellow pilots who are not in the danger zone would be willing to step up and help out those of us who are. The company is allowing for use of Vacation to drop your trip, or Emergency Drop.. on top of the sick calls they are going to get. They are also positive spacing people. This is one time where someone in Flt Ops/Management is doing the right thing. Motch |

They are supposed to staff for reserves all year for the thousands of pilots in the path of the worst storm in 100 years, which happens once in a 100 years? If you believe so, you'd be an incredible business man.
Always seem to be "irregular operations".... See Citation D's post... |

I was on reserve for the next four days. I informed the chief pilot that my services are not available. I have a family to take care of. My days were dropped, including the 4day I was to start this evening in which there were no FOs legal for the trip, without a hint of opposition. |

I live local and can/willing to help out my fellow pilots tomorrow.. but the VJM is there for those few guys who get jammed up. I have 3 days avail starting tomorrow.. and just can't leave for a 3 day knowing my place may flood (it flooded last year during the Hurricane while I was out moving C-5's! don't want to go through that again) There are times (most of them, lately) where the Company and the Pilot Group are head to head. But this is not one of them. Natural disasters, Mother Nature or unforeseen Family Matters- we should be working together. The name of this Thread suggest an ulterior motive. That was the reason for my post. I don't believe that is true this time~ Motch PS> Good luck everyone in the Path. Sounds like starting tomorrow till the end of the week is gonna be "interesting".. Yea. Reserves will help you out. Just like we were helped out on furlough as you all were banging out 90 hrs a month, what ever.
