How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Luv the TA
#21
If enough pilots vote no and turn it down, it may pressure the board to consider a new team. Let's face it, so far the merger has been a complete cluster and the resulting airline is lame. We know it, our long time pax know it and Wall Street knows it. DAL is mopping up and we're parking planes. I'm going to vote ush irrespective of what the TA looks like. We've taken it in the shorts since 9-11 and much of their case was bogus. Now, instead of getting the troops back on board, they're increasing the pressure and coming after us. Ush! FTP.

This one line of your post has a lot of merit. The company has a top dollar, they may change parts of the pot to make it better but then will take money from other parts to keep the ceiling intact. It's just a game of shuffling the deck. So what parts is everyone willing to give up to get what they want? No one is going to be 100% satisfied.
I have not.

I do appreciate your desire to logically read the entire TA and then formulate your decision. I do feel however that we are dealing with such horrible people that they simply don't deserve my time. If this pilot group knew what this management team thought of us behind closed doors, I think more people would agree with me.
They want us gone. They could care less about you or your family's well being. This is all business and I simply do not do business with whale crap like this.
They are bullies and will try and put the fear of god into us to vote yes. Prepare yourself, the fear train is a comin'!
Just imagine if these bullies received a 80-90% no vote! Their jaws would drop (I could get more creative than jaws drop but I have been warned about my language). Don't give in now people! We just had a 99% strike vote with 95% participating!!! Believe me, they would begin to negotiate. NMB or no NMB, they would negotiate.
Just venting. Can't wait to vote no.

James likes what you're puttin' down. Lemme fly through that cloud.
On a more serious note, all you've got to do is read through the last several mailings published by the Grievance Committee to see what they think of us, our "culture" and our contract.

"call their bluff. We pilots are not under any timelines to complete this merger"
First Bobline is almost right in that there is only a top dollar amount any company can afford to pay and finding that amount is part of the art of negotiations.
Now I will also guess you are a CAL pilot and not real senior, one who can benefit from a contract being drug on into the future. Now let me ask, why did pilots vote to strike? Certainly not to drag this negotiations on much longer, we want a contract now! Guess what? Yours and my negotiators, with the help of the NMB, have gotten us a contract agreement. Now it is up to the MECs (which probably have known a lot of the details for quite a long time) to pass it on to their constituents to vote for.
Here's something else I perceive, If the TA is voted yes on by the MECs I'll bet you and many others will have a cow about them sending such a "substandard" product for the ignorant and no guts pilot population to vote on.
Relax you will get to vote and that is the limit of the power you and I have. If you want to have a bigger say run for election and represent us tough talking gutless pilots before your fellow MEC members.
