Its the same story.... The 8000 to 10000 are the exact same pilots applications USairways, Delta, Fedex, SWA etc have...... Not like there's 40000 of us and only a 1/5 applied at UAL...... Once it picks up those numbers and the quality will drop quickly I think....

I've often wondered about this myself. I'm sure there are at least a few thousand of guys that have their apps in with united, delta, spirit, jet blue, etc..... The more the better off we all are I believe.

I can't speak for all of the, but she's been a CA for at least 4 years and I would imagine has between 5-7,000hrs TT and at least 3,000hrs TPIC, so yeah, she's more than qualified.

Except they decreased the outsourced flying with their latest contract.

I know of two who I wrote recommendations for who were Regional Captains with 1000+ PIC time. They both got the WAI scholarship, and were excellent students in the 737 type rating course.

The reasons I would like to be a woman seems to steadily increase as I get older :-)

Where does one apply for the mid 30s white male, mil and civ heavy PIC time with a masters degree scholarship :-)

(All sarcasm...kind of!)

Latest update from CV,

Still in the process of finalizing the selection strategies and the 88 recalls to the UA side is a good sign...

How are they still finalizing this stuff with scholarship winners getting interviewed? Are they not getting the full interview process that will be administered upon the masses?

FWIW - Women in Aviation is open to everyone - so become a member, attend a convention, write an essay and perhaps win a scholarship. I've heard of several smart guys who've become members.
