Syd and Special,
You guys post regularly on APC, but I am totally unclear on your agenda. Syd clearly hates ALPA and Special you seem close behind but not willing to outline your true agenda in detail and both of you hide behind anonymity. So what gives? What do you really want from your involvement on APC? Joe Peck Since I post in anonymity and don't utilize shiny charts I must have an agenda. If I don't subscribe to the Joe Peck/Hari Krishna vision of United/ALPA utopia I must have an agenda. Well Joe you got me, I do have an agenda and here she goes. I have an agenda when someone says or I experience: - relative seniority is fair - alpa merger policy can include anything (why even have a merger a merger policy?) - they saved United - our list is just as extreme as yours - we deserved that $40 million profit sharing - an mec chairman fighting our filing of a grievance over said profit sharing - United was just about to furlough another 1400 pilots - LOA 25 was inserted into the contract - you furloughees didn't make my top ten list regarding loa 25 - there are good scabs and bad scabs. - a 737 intl block hour is the same as a 747 intl block hour - the 737 is the same as a 757 - the 763 weighs 40k less than a 764 but according to many cal pilots isn't a widebody. The 764 weighs half as much as a 400 but pays the same. Homogenization my a........ - stapling 3000 pilots. but it's business, not personal - the furloughees deserved to be stapled since they came to the bottom of the list at cal - the furloughees don't have any career expectations - the widebody advantage is a myth - work rules are bad - I look at my crew meal - An lec chairman stands and says, I will hold this contract up indefinitely unless I get pay banding. - ALPA trip drops - using the jcba for seniority purposes I've got more Joe, just not the time. I rarely come on here and start threads. I respond when I feel a post is out of touch. If you deem that as having an agenda then so be it. After so many years I guess I trust very little. One day our paths will cross. You will recognize me when I smile and address you as Joe Izuzu. http://www.westernfreepress.com/wp-c...ey-300x205.jpg Take care. |

Jseld, I never said yours was extreme. In fact it could be workable with some moderate tinkering. I bet that is what they are doing right now.

God will send a message about our futures very soon. As Representative Salley mentioned earlier, it is now time to unite as respected co-workers.

Wha, wha, what? That means you AND CleCaptn believe that the Arbs are tweaking OUR proposal ??!! I believe you are correct, btw. Common sense dictates that of the 2, the UAL proposal is more on the fair and equitable side....you know, not stapling 13 year (as of 2010) employees, and actually following policy. Besides, how do you tweak a "1 for me, 1 for you" ratio? haha. It's got the complexity of a coloring book. Wasted paper.
Sled I went on to say, that IF it was not relative, that the arbs would use the ual program to run different scenarios. To see the affect of weighting the cornerstones and ANY other items they feel are significant. I also said I thought the furloughs would be removed from the equation. So if you think that is tweeking the ual list, then tweek away. We'll see in a couple of weeks |

Sled dont get carried away, not exactly what I said. I said that I thought that no matter how it was presented, the result would be close to relative.

We'll see in a couple of weeks Relative seniority with ALL pilots I still have 2+ year more longevity AND in the same status and category. So relative seniority works about the same if you were hired in 91 or before, but for us 95 and after hires, how does relative seniority fit in with status and category and longevity? We just have more of both of those. |

You are a 2005 hire and I'll bet you end up senior to UAL pilots hired in 1998, even though I don't think that's fair for them. Plus, you really need to watch your language. A college graduate should have a much larger vocabulary of more appropriate words than the four-letter ones. Signed, LAX PILOT (AKA part of the problem as designated by the CAL MEC) |

This guy only comes on this forum to score points. As the title of this thread implies, he's politically posturing. He says he'll not run for an ALPA position. Time will tell but he'll end-up in an elected or in an appointed position. Can you see it. I was drafted to run by "my guys" or I only accepted the position because ALPA leadership thought I was the only one capable of doing the job.

I think the 3,000 UAL pilot staple job that was proposed by CAL ended any chance of that happening.
In all honesty, I think my guys take the award and say,"we've been fv<ked before, we'll be Fuvcked again." unless we stand UNITED. I have absolutely no idea of how the sli award will be granted. What I do know is that your post are not part of the solution, your post are a large part of the problem. Airline Pilot Central Forums Please accept my resignation from APC. Remove access from Ben Salley and A320fumes, if you will. Thanx, Ben |
