It's bad compare to DAL and the combined AMR/UsAir results, but it is not as bad as the $52m number you posted. Read it again....

I don't understand how Delta is beating us so bad with all those old, used airplanes with less than iphone technology.

Classic! Thanks for that.

Sadly, the sarcasm implied will fall into the sarchasm of many.

Lerxst 07-25-2013 09:46 AM

But those Chinese MD 90's they're getting have knock off iPhone technology.

UAL Q2 profit

If we have a bucket of costs/expenses (fixed and variable), to spread over our Available Seat Miles, won't our CASM go up every time we reduce our capacity. Fewer seats to spread that bucket of costs against. Subsequently we could automatically lower our CASM by increasing our capacity. Blame labor :)

So you think just Jeff has to go and that would fix things?

Well you can always work for free:D.
All joking aside, the term Jeff has got to go implies that we need a management team who's main focus is to run an airline with the following goals: I will quote Delta's CEO,
"we are relentless in our efforts to build a better airline for our employees, customers, and shareholders."
