Default SFO Guppy FO Unfilled

Looks like they only got 8 takers for the SFO Guppy FO slots on the UAL side. The rest will probably be rebid or given to new hires.

YEP. SFO 737 Captain seniority ranged from 5/86 to 12/92. Pretty senior!

Interesting.. did you guys expect that to happen?
Wonder why?

Also wonder how many LCAL pilots bid SFO 737 FO and didn't get it!
So, come next week and "The List" is out, guess they are going to have to have another SFO737 bid to fill those vacancies!

Just keeps getting more and more interesting~

Why would a ua 98-99 hire bid to fly FO with a co 2005 hire CA, before knowing the results of SLI?

Scratching my head on the point of this MOU.

That won't happen for a couple of reasons. You should re-read the MOU. I think it's posted in one of the thread on this forum. I'm surprised the CAL side signed off on the MOU. They really didn't get anything from it.

The junior LCAL 737 SFO Capt is listed as a July 05 hire.
But I don't believe that the two crews will be mixing until some time after CMS. So for guys to not bid LUAL 737 FO because they don't want to fly with a 05 hire LCAL Capt is kinda funny.

Come SLI, I don't expect that any current LCAL Capt is going to be bumped down. Guys need to get over this stuff.
I routinely fly with Captains my age or even younger some times. So what?!

Getting back to LUAL 737 SFO FO Bid.. what happens next?!
With these 73's being part of the replacement LUAL 757 deal, it's strange that the slots went unfilled. Can/will LUAL now send out a recall bid with 737 SFO FO on it? Gotta think there has to be some of the 800ish pilots on furlough out there who would want it~

In the interest of accuracy, I'll quote myself again:
-------------------------------------------------

So what are the reasons? What am I missing?

A 767 FO takes a pay cut. A 320 FO gets a $1 pay raise. Go to Houston to learn CAL systems from CAL instructors for what amounts to a lateral move. Are the 737s still in round dial config? Are they still doing Jepp revisions? When they combine the fleet after sli will the pilots be in different uniforms? (Except for the captain's five year pin vs. FO's 15 year pin). Since there will surely be more vacancies there after SLI why wouldn't a junior FO wait and see?

The unfilled slots will be bid again on the first combined SLI bid and any open slots left over after that will go to new hires.

I initially thought you were a middle of the road kinda of guy but now see I was wrong. The "kicking out" of a UAL candidate for a position you are running at the EWR LEC meeting and now blasting UAL guys for not bidding a position as they obviously didn't think was in there best interest. Claiming "(UAL)Guys need to get over this stuff" refusing to fly with a Captains junior to them. When you have something stolen don't expect people to welcome you to the family. Maybe they were just trying to avoid the cockpit conflicts.

Everybody knows this a is a big ploy on your part, catering to CAL pilots based in EWR for votes in the current election. UAL has a reputation of not voting for and removing the few self-serving types that end up being elected to ALPA positions.
