"You may go to an airline website and buy a ticket, pull up to its desk at the curb, and get onto an airplane that has a similar name painted on it, but half the time, you're really on a regional airline. The regionals aren't held to the same safety standards as the majors: Their pilots aren't required to have as much training and experience, and the public doesn't know that." -Captain at a major airline
Then read the comments...

As usual, the comments are more entertaining than the article.

This whole thread should be dedicated to posting the best comment you can find.

The airlines don't hide this, but the FDA and food industry do--
some airlines FORBID their pilots to consume Aspartame (NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, Equal-Measure, et al) because it causes BRAIN DAMAGE

"Most of the time, how you land is a good indicator of a pilot's skill. So if you want to say something nice to a pilot as you're getting off the plane, say 'Nice landing.' We do appreciate that." -Joe D'Eon
Who's the clown who wrote this!? So I can come in high and fast, float halfway down the runway and grease it on and all the sudden I'm more skillfull than the guy who's on speed in the touchdown zone? What he should of said is we're all a bunch of egotistical, type A personalities who like hearing the passengers say "nice landing" even though they have no clue as to what it takes to be a skillful pilot.
